Data Operations is a newly formed central department with overall responsibility for maintaining accurate Student Records and Data within the University. The department underpins processes and systems which support the entire student lifecycle. Within the department remit is to support and manage the students record system (Unit-e).
The post-holder will have responsibility for maintaining the University’s student record system and associated data related business processes. This will involve reviewing business processes, translating them into technical specifications and providing effective solutions to streamline data processes to support student records users. There will also be an opportunity to get involved in the implementation of a new record system that the University aims to introduce in the next two years.
You will be expected to liaise with key academic, administrative and technical staff to capture and specify any new requirements pertaining to key business processes, document the required technology solutions, configuration and processes specifications and put them into practice.
The successful candidate will be highly computer literate and have knowledge of relational database concepts as well as of SQL database query language. You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work on your own initiative and collaboratively as part of a team, balancing conflicting requirements and deadlines to achieve results within fixed timescales.
