We’re looking for an experienced marketer to work closely with our flagship research institutes. As part of the flagship marketing team you will devise campaigns, coordinate media activity, manage social media channels and create content that promotes research impact to key stakeholders including policymakers, funders and industry.
Our flagship research institutes: The Energy Institute, The Healthy Lifespan Institute, The Neuroscience Institute and the Institute for Sustainable Food are all working to tackle some of the biggest challenges we face today- locally, nationally and globally.
Their groundbreaking research is helping to improve the lives of patients with rare diseases, preventing the onset of age-related health conditions and frailty, decarbonising industries, and making our food supply more equitable and sustainable.
In this role you will support two of the flagship institutes, the Neuroscience Institute and Healthy Lifespan Institute, by developing and implementing marketing plans designed to meet their priorities. You will also work with the central marketing, digital, media and external relations teams to use research impact to boost the reputation of the University as a whole.
You’ll need a natural interest in academic research and a creative flair for translating complex information into accessible content (case studies, videos, infographics, social media posts) that is suitable for our audiences.
You’ll also need awareness of the external cultural and political environment that our research exists within to spot opportunities for promotion such as COP26, external awareness campaigns and relevant government initiatives/targets.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
