The Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge wishes to appoint a full-time Research Assistant, to work on a research project in the Centre for Research on Play in Education, Development and Learning (PEDAL).
The post holder will have a key role in the data collection for a follow-up study of families with children aged 6 to 8 years of age. The follow-up study extends upon families' earlier participation in the Healthy Start, Happy Start study, a randomised controlled trial of a video-feedback parenting intervention delivered to caregivers when their children were 1-3 years old. The postholder will be part of the PEDAL Research Centre, led by Professor Paul Ramchandani.
The post-holder will collect data related to parenting, parent-child interaction, and children's behaviour and development. The post will involve significant work at evenings and weekends and travel across London, Oxfordshire, Peterborough, and Hertfordshire as a necessary part of the post.
Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in developmental psychology or a closely related field. They will have experience working closely with children and families, ideally including in a research setting. The postholder will be highly organised and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
