The Head of Conservation and Buildings is an important leadership role within Estates Services, leading a team of professional staff who carry out building repair and maintenance works and minor refurbishment projects.
The University estates encompasses a wide variety of buildings from listed buildings to state of the art laboratory buildings. The post will offer expert advice on building maintenance and listed building matters and act as the University expert on listed building matters, representing the University at meetings with the City Council and English Heritage, among others.
They will also comment on and advise on Capital Projects development proposals including advice on heritage matters and maintenance requirements. They will manage all aspects of the building repairs and maintenance programme including managing workloads, budgeting and procurement issues.
