The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Brunel University London is looking for a Research Assistant/Fellow to join a project on earthquake and tsunami studies of Indonesia. The job is part of a large UK-Indonesia project aimed at earthquake/tsunami resilience in Indonesia. This job mainly includes numerical modelling of tsunami from earthquake and landslide sources as well as limited experimental modelling. A good understanding of tide gauge records, seismology, earthquake source process and subduction zone earthquakes are essential for this job. The candidate should hold a PhD Degree (or working towards) in one of the following: Civil Engineering, Geophysics, Oceanography or any relevant field with the aforesaid skills set.

The candidate is expected to produce relevant research reports to the client as well as to publish the results in international journals; thus, having experience of publishing peer-reviewed journal articles is an advantage for this post.      

The successful candidate will work under supervision of Dr Mohammad Heidarzadeh (mohammad.heidarzadeh@brunel.ac.uk) and will report to him directly.
