This research project will explore prospective memory skills among autistic individuals. Prospective memory (PM) refers to the ability to remember to perform an intended action at an appropriate future time and is fundamental for independent living. Specifically, this role will involve collecting data exploring PM abilities in autistic adults, using a naturalistic task administered using a mobile app, and organizing a public engagement event/conference.
The advertised Research Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day running of this project, and will assist the principle investigator with study design, preparing study material, completing data collection, statistical analysis and writing up research papers for publication. The successful candidate will also be responsible for recruiting adult participants and managing a participant dataset. It is expected that the successful applicant will have a strong background in high-quality empirical psychology research, ideally focusing on the topics of prospective memory and/or autism research.
