Can you help us build new services for using sensitive (health) datasets in research across the University?
The analysis of sensitive and large datasets using new and emerging techniques is integral to so much research and the Research and Innovation IT Services team are growing our capability and capacity to ensure that we are able to continue to enable and support the world-class research done across the University.
By enabling our researchers to use cloud platforms to apply new analytical techniques to solving problems that will change lives and influence policy, we're addressing some of the world's most pressing challenges, from developing new treatments for life-threatening diseases to solving the problem of feeding a world of 10 billion and driving low-carbon technology.
Our schools and flagship institutes include the Healthy Lifespan Institute (HELSI), which is looking at ways to improve the quality of life and independent living as people grow older. We have partnered with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust to create the Insigneo Institute for in-silico Medicine is Europe’s largest research institute dedicated entirely to the development, validation, and use of in-silico medicine technologies. They are using cutting-edge modelling techniques to build a Virtual Physiological Human that will revolutionize healthcare.
As Research Data Systems Engineer you will be someone who understands how to run secure and reliable virtual infrastructure and computers, either in the cloud or a large enterprise.
