The newly formed Democracy Institute (DI) at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position within its workgroup, focusing on the challenges of modern democracies.
Apart from pursuing her/his own research, the fellow will assist with constructing and consolidating an innovative interdisciplinary international research network. The position will thus combine research and organizational tasks. We seek applicants with a record (or strong promise) of relevant and internationally recognized publications in the research area, familiarity with current political affairs, and a keen interest in networking and institution building. Parallel with the contribution to institution building, the candidate is expected to conduct high-level academic research and publish in prestigious academic fora on democracy-related topics. The position will be based in Budapest, Hungary but he/she might occasionally be requested to teach courses at CEU Private University in Vienna, Austria.
Responsibilities and opportunities:
Candidates must have a PhD in hand, an outstanding research agenda, and a record of relevant publications in the field. Experience in research planning and management is an advantage. Applicants must have excellent written and oral proficiency in English.
We offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. The employment contract is for two years, with a possibility of renewal.
