The University of South Wales is looking for a highly motivated Academic Subject Manager to lead our provision in the area of Film, Cinema and Media Production. The role will involve academic leadership and operational management of staff on undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Based at Cardiff, the Academic Subject Manager plays a critical function in curriculum development, management of academic staff, leading and supporting research and in ensuring and maintaining a consistently positive student experience across all relevant courses. This role is also an external facing one and includes liaising and partnering with a number of high-profile screen industry partners and Welsh Government initiatives.
Working to the Deputy Dean and Director of Production & Performance, the Academic Subject Manager: Film & Media Production requires a good overall knowledge of the UK Film and TV business, with relevant contacts in both industry and higher education. A commitment to balancing different skillsets and resources, as well as experience of leading large and creative teams, to deliver and support a positive and beneficial educational experience to all our students is essential. A specific knowledge of the current needs and challenges of the screen industries in Wales – and how USW can work with key stakeholders to address them - would be an advantage.
