The University of Nottingham is home to a thriving and vibrant Neuroscience community at whose heart are undergraduate degree programmes at BSc(Hons) and MSci level. Applications are invited to the above role to provide and extend a consistently excellent standard of teaching in both of these degree programmes and to support student learning that is underpinned by scholarship*, to contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance and enhancement; to undertake continuing professional development; to work in partnership with staff and students to maintain the highest standards in all areas of their work.

Our degrees are research driven and we encourage students to engage with knowledge-based learning alongside exploring other skills such as data analysis, presentation, communication and the ethical and societal impacts of the neurosciences. We are therefore seeking an individual who values proactive engagement with critical inquiry into the processes of learning in higher education in contexts which are curiosity and evidence-driven.

The role holder will be responsible for delivering teaching across a range of modules within neuroscience and related subjects and will provide pastoral support to students in order to assist them with developing their knowledge and intellectual skills.

We are seeking candidates with demonstrable skills in designing and delivering high quality and up-to-date course materials, the ability to use a range of delivery techniques/technologies and pastoral care in order to inspire and engage students. Our degree programmes have small group-based teaching embedded within them and we therefore seek someone who is able to facilitate teaching in large and smaller groups.

Candidates must have extensive experience within this subject area and have prior expertise in the successful delivery of teaching within an agreed quality framework. An international reputation within a specialist field would be desirable.

Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area.

This is a full-time (36.25 hour) permanent role. Job share arrangements may be considered.
