An exciting opportunity to establish a convergent science approach to research challenges with a molecular dimension. Suits a collaborative individual with a strong scientific/technical background, ideally with some experience of science communication and research strategy. Individuals with postdoctoral experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
Within a supportive team, you will deliver IMSE’s goal of stimulating and promoting trans-disciplinary, collaborative research on global challenges, enabling translation to end-users in the field of molecular science and engineering. Working with the Institute’s academic leadership to facilitate collaborative activities with stakeholders, and support the generation of grant proposals with external partners. You will be responsible for delivering the Institute’s Briefing Paper series and other translation activities, e.g. blog and podcast.
This role requires a high level of engagement with the research community across all faculties and departments, and with external partners and stakeholders. Strategic thinking, teamwork, and a proactive approach are required to initiate and develop internal and external relationships, build communities, identify and respond to opportunities, and deliver pivotal initiatives.
Duties and responsibilities
You will plan, manage and deliver the thought-leadership and translation activities of the Institute. You will produce our Briefing Paper series, and disseminate the Institute’s work through news articles, blogs and podcasts.
Your other responsibility will be planning and delivering activities to develop the Institute’s research strategy and grant proposals, in collaboration with our partners.
