About the role

As a Research and Knowledge Exchange Development Officer, you will be based in a small, friendly team but work closely with colleagues within the wider Research and Knowledge Exchange function, across SOAS, and with external partners and stakeholders. You will provide proactive professional support and guidance in the planning, costing, development, and delivery of research and knowledge exchange through externally-funded projects and activities.

You will advise on appropriate funding opportunities (including contract research/tenders) and funder requirements, and support the development of research and knowledge exchange grants and contracts through assisting academics with the project management of the pre-award process. About you

Ideally you will demonstrate:

  • You hold an Undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the research and knowledge exchange policy funding landscape in Higher Education, particularly in terms of the major national and international funding agencies, their policies and procedures
  • Proven experience of administration and management within a Research and Knowledge Exchange function in a university or other research organisation
  • Evidence of monitoring compliance with policies and procedures (for example in relation to risk assessment, contracts, and ethics).
  • An interest in research and knowledge exchange, particularly in the arts and humanities and social sciences, and a particular empathy with the needs of academic researchers.
