We are looking for an experienced and creative Assistant Professor – Teaching Focussed who will contribute primarily to the Department’s commercial short courses teaching provision, focused on English language development and English language teacher development. This will involve face-to-face and online teaching and assuming a Director of Studies role for certain courses. The Department’s short courses programme runs throughout the year and comprises open enrolment as well as tailored courses for clients and partner organisations around the world with many of whom we have established longstanding relationships. There may also be opportunities for the postholder to contribute to our academic courses.

You will be an applied linguist with a strong professional background in TESOL and considerable experience in the design and delivery of creative and engaging programmes focused on English language education, English language teacher professional development and, ideally, intercultural communication. You will have a minimum of a Master’s degree in a relevant field, along with a DELTA qualification or equivalent and experience of teaching at university level.
