Working for Technical Services and placed within the School Of The Built Environment, you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the School’s lab spaces, and supporting the teaching of students and the research conducted by academic staff.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in areas such as building physics, thermodynamics, 3D fabrication, energy demand and climate. You must have an interest and grounding in these areas, as well as a good general understanding of technology, and the ability to learn new skills and techniques.
As part of the position you will work closely with School staff to plan projects, carry out teaching and research activities, and assess the resources required to achieve objectives. You will also work closely with students to help them achieve their learning objectives. You will be expected to contribute to plans for the development of the School and the fulfilment of it priorities, such as new courses and facilities.
You will be expected to feedback regularly to School and Technical Services staff regarding equipment condition, required investment and ways to improve the service. The role will sometimes require you to supervise other members of technical staff who support the School from time to time.
You will be expected to develop positive working relationships with colleagues in all areas of the University and conduct yourself as a professional at all times.
