We are looking for a motivated and qualified Research Assistant to join the Department of Computer Science at Brunel University to work in a highly innovative, industrial project. The project is in collaboration with Algomo, a company that develops AI-powered customer service solutions for businesses.
The project aims to deliver a conversational AI to support over a hundred languages, including underrepresented and minority languages, enabling organisations to engage with their customers in their native language and to expand geographically.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the creation of new and innovative interfaces and interactions for the product, helping bringing it to market.The successful candidate will work closely with the PI and the industrial partner, including the wider product team. The successful candidate will apply insight from primary user research and literature to create a usable product. Their duties will include creating UI prototypes for the product, and planning and running user studies. The successful candidate will contribute in writing research papers.
The successful candidate should have a minimum qualification of a BSc degree in HCI, Design, Computer Science (or relevant discipline), and should have at least a year of industrial experience in end-to-end UX design. They must be proficient in industry standards tools and techniques for UX design and user research. Knowledge in user-centred design and the ability to present research results in writing and orally are also essential.
This is a flexible role that can either be part-time or full-time for a total of 825 hours.
