We are looking to recruit a motivated, full-time research assistant to join Prof Menna Clatworthy in the University of Cambridge Department of Medicine (http://www.med.cam.ac.uk/clatworthy/) working on collaborative projects on human immune responses with Dr Rona Smith, Dr Rachel Jones and Prof David Jayne:

The post holder will assist with collaborative projects focused on monitoring human immune responses to immune modulating agents, including patients with autoimmune diseases and vulnerable patients receiving COVID-19 prophylactic treatment as part of the PROTECT-V study (https://www.camcovidtrials.net/trials/view,protect_50.htm ). This will involve using flow cytometry and RNA sequencing (both bulk and single cell). The post-holder will work between the Clatworthy lab's Human Tissue Immunity Laboratory and the clinic, collecting and curating samples and working with clinicians to optimise sample acquisition and processing pipelines, as well as preparing samples for sequencing. They will also play a more general role in the organisation of the lab and the management of project priorities.

The appointee will have a minimum Bachelor's degree in biological science or related field, or appropriate experience or equivalent qualification and/or experience. Knowledge of the day to day workings of an transcriptomic laboratory, including molecular biology, single cell and bulk sequencing methodologies and sample process in a CL2 facility would be desirable.
