Challenging, interesting and constantly changing, the University of Derby is an extraordinary place to learn and an incredibly rewarding place to work.
Here at the University of Derby we have committed to nurture and encourage research excellence across all our disciplines and career stages, recognising the strong link between excellent research and an excellent student experience. Our research makes a difference by making an impact on our students, industry (locally, regionally and internationally), policy makers, our international research partners and the wider community.
We have entered a new and exciting era for research and knowledge exchange at the University, making investments in our students, staff and infrastructure to help us achieve our overall aim of producing research that is high-impact and high-profile and that is beneficial to our stakeholder groups. Building upon our success in REF 2021, we continue to invest in research and knowledge exchange, supporting our College plans, providing doctoral bursaries and grants and staffing of the central professional services team; the University Research and Knowledge Exchange Office (URKEO).
The University Research and Knowledge Exchange Office are seeking to appoint a Knowledge Exchange Manager to specialise in the development and growth of consultancy activity.
We are looking for an individual with demonstrable experience who is extremely motivated to lead the development of the University’s consultancy portfolio and to fully implement a growth plan, delivering new income streams and incremental research opportunities. Beyond this area of focus, as a Knowledge Exchange professional we also expect the post-holder to identify and develop additional opportunities such as contract research, collaborative research and development, as the opportunities arise to maximise our impact to our external partners.
You will be a pro-active self-starter who is confidently able to readily build collaborative partnerships within business, public sector and third sector whilst developing strong working relationships with internal partners and academic colleagues to deliver against contract.
You will be responsible for developing and establishing the necessary infrastructure to prepare for growth in consultancy, undertaking proactive identification and monitoring of current consultancy activity.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect everyone who works for us to also share this commitment and to treat people with courtesy and respect.
