About the Department:

Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions (MSRA) delivers a professional and responsive service to the School to ensure that student number targets are met by recruiting and admitting well-qualified applicants. This includes development and delivery of exciting marketing campaigns to communicate the values of SOAS and the benefits of studying here, and in-person recruitment across UK, EU and International markets to programmes delivered on-campus, via distance and online learning, and through our partnerships overseas.

In Admissions, the team aims to deliver a professional, fair and efficient applicant experience, whilst providing academic departments with advice on process and acting as the institutional repository for qualifications expertise.

The Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions team will work particularly closely with central professional services including, the Global Engagement Directorate, Registry, Student and Academic Services, IT, Legal and Governance, Estates and all the Academic Departments.

About the Role

The International Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative support to the International Recruitment team, including processing invoices, answering email enquiries, arranging freight, providing on the ground management of inward visits, participating in a number of recruitment open days, taster days, webinars and info session both in person and online and ensuring smooth running of the International Marketing and Student Recruitment activities.

The postholder will be an important point of contact for our agent representatives across all markets, implementing procedures and processes to ensure that the key elements of the relationship – including agreements, training, commission claims and payments – are efficiently handled. Working with the International Regional Managers and the Head of International Recruitment to continually track, develop and improve agent performance including undertaking yearly agent performance reviews, collating data on application, offer and enrolment for the students represented by our agents and setting and assessing the outcomes of agent targets.

About you: You will need to demonstrate:

  • Relevant administrative experience preferably gained in the higher education sector
  • Experience of managing relationships with agent representatives and experience of working on successful student recruitment initiatives within higher education.
  • Excellent communication skills – including written skills, networking skills, confident public speaking with excellent presentation skills.
  • Proven empathy with students and understanding of the applications process for international students
  • Knowledge of the application and admissions processes to full degree programmes in the UK and an understanding of current international higher education issues and challenges
  • Experience of running inward visits including tours, visits days, open days, taster days and webinars,
