UWE Bristol is one of the largest providers of Higher Education in the South West with 32,000 students, 250,000 alumni and 4,000 staff from across the globe. We are both globally connected and regionally embedded, with a strong network of employer and partner connections. We support our large and diverse student body with extensive digital collections and services.
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active Librarian who enjoys working collaboratively with others to join the digitisation and document delivery section of the Collections Team, based at our Frenchay campus library. This team works to provide digitised copies of course readings to students through UWE’s reading list system, as well as managing a busy inter-library loan service, and converting texts into alternative formats for students with disabilities. As Collections Support Librarian, you will be involved in a number of varied and fast moving projects to support the delivery of core content to students, academic staff and researchers.
This role is perfect for a qualified librarian who wants to immerse themselves in a busy and dynamic team, working to provide innovative solutions in the changing world of academic librarianship. You will have the opportunity to deliver process improvement projects, supervise staff, and develop and deliver briefings and training to staff on a variety of topics. Additionally, it is a role that requires close collaboration with other teams across library services including the Acquisitions Team and Disability Support Team.
This is a great time to be joining us with the chance to help shape future service delivery, as we have just implemented a new Library Management System (Ex Libris Alma and Primo) and there will be plenty of opportunity to build on existing processes to utilize the new system.
