The Department for Student Support and Success is seeking an experienced senior mental health practitioner to the Mental Wellbeing Team.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of leadership roles, excellent communication skills, a good working knowledge of support services, be confident working with crisis and complex and sensitive issues. The post-holder will have proven experience as a professional mental health practitioner in a community, health or education setting and experience of assessment and care management, including the assessment and management of risk.
Duties will include provision of 1:1 support and group workshops for students with mental health difficulties, facilitating their access to study and successful graduation. Your role will also include line management of a mental health advisor within the team and management of our specialist mentoring service.
The Senior Mental Health Advisor will help to lead and guide the development of support strategies and our university-wide mental health strategy. The post-holder will have a key role in developing close working relationships with local NHS services and other key stakeholders.
