About the role:

Based in our Faculty of Science and Engineering, the School of Engineering and the Built Environment offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in architecture, civil engineering, construction/project management, quantity and building surveying, town planning and mechanical engineering. We’re seeking to appoint a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer to teach quantity surveying to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants with applied and practical experience using RICS New Rules of Measurement.

You’ll have a PhD or Professional Doctorate (or nearing completion within 18 months for Lecturer appointments) in a related discipline, and carry interest in teaching at Higher Education Institution. Under the supervision of the Deputy Head of School, you’ll be responsible for teaching construction and surveying related programmes and where necessary, other related subjects in the school. You’ll be committed to research and prepared to work as part of multi-disciplinary research teams as well as developing your personal research activities in Built Environment.
