This role will be based on the university campus with local travel around Leeds, Wakefield and other parts of the Leeds City Region. There is scope for some of the routine/desk-based tasks of this role to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The Lifelong Learning Centre is concerned with widening participation at the University of Leeds especially in relation to mature, part-time and foundation level learners. Adult outreach and community development work, in collaboration with a range of education providers and local organisations has developed over a number of years. We have a dedicated team working with local communities, encouraging and supporting adults to consider higher education. In addition we seek to prepare adults who lack traditional qualifications for academic study.
We are seeking to appoint a Communities and Partnerships Officer to engage, increase awareness and support adults into programmes at the University of Leeds. The appointee will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, experience of working with diverse groups and a commitment to widening participation for adults from socially and economically disadvantaged areas. This post is full-time and the pattern of work can be negotiated, however you would be expected to undertake evening and weekend work when necessary. The geographical remit will primarily be Leeds, Wakefield and other parts of the Leeds City Region.
This post will include community engagement with adults from diverse communities particularly in Leeds and Wakefield. The role will include some informal teaching /facilitating as well as working with other education providers to progress adults studying at GCSE or other Further Education level 2 qualifications.
