We’re pleased to offer the vacancy of a Project Assistant – Holiday Gap. The role has been created as a result of Sport England’s new strategy (Uniting the Movement) and associated funding from Herts County Council to deliver the Holiday Activity and Food Programme known in Hertfordshire as HAPpy.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will need to support the coordination and delivery of the HAPpy programme which has three delivery phases (Spring, Summer and Winter). You will be able to research and find locally trusted community partners who could potentially assist in the delivery of the programme. The post holder will have to shape, initiate and develop relationships with primary and secondary schools across the county.

The post holder will be required to assist in the coordination and delivery of HSP’s Fit, Fed and Read programme which runs during all three school half term periods and the HAPpy delivery phases as well.

There will be some evening and weekend working as required to enable delivery of HSP’s wider operations.

Skills and experience required

You will have experience in community projects, events and engagement work. The successful candidate will be proficient in use of Microsoft Office and digital engagement tools, including social media platforms. A practical understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues in sport and physical activity is essential as well as the ability to monitor and evaluate methods for community development work.
