Following the success and expansion of our Operating Department Practice (ODP) Apprenticeship Degree and Perioperative Practice Top Up Degree programmes, the University of Derby are looking for innovative individuals to join the team as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (dependant upon qualifications and experience) to help push the boundaries and transform education delivery in order to provide an excellent student experience.
You will have a strong clinical and/or educational background in perioperative practice, and will be an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or Nurse with current registration with HCPC or the NMC. Experience in performing enhanced or advanced practice roles would be beneficial however not essential. Achievement of a formal teaching qualification, Masters/ Level 7 qualification / PhD is preferred however applicants who do not possess these qualifications, should be willing to work towards within an agreed time frame.
In this role, you will develop and deliver innovative and flexible range of learning and teaching materials across the range of modules with the programme that provide high quality, accessible learning opportunities and an exceptional student experience in line with the University’s strategic objectives, ensuring that employability and ‘real-world’ learning are at the heart of the curriculum. You will also engage in research which influences leading edge practice, informs and inspires the research-led curriculum and teaching and contributes to continuing subject expertise and contribution to the REF (Research Excellence Framework). The successful candidates will be supported for their further professional development.
Effective teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential and you will be innovative and creative in sharing your knowledge and experience in order to provide high quality healthcare education.
Whilst the role is based at our Kedleston Road Campus in Derby, the unique online delivery method of the programme allows for flexibility in the role, allowing significant opportunities for working from home, with attendance at the university dictated by demands of the role and face to face teaching commitments, therefore applicants are encouraged who are not local to Derby. There will also be a requirement for occasional travel to meet learners and employers in their workplace.
Full time or part time working arrangements considered.
