Based at our head office in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. We are currently trialling hybrid working with up to 2 days at home.

A bit about you...  

Committed to strategic Research Development, communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, building outstanding working relationships. We are passionate about progressing all our employees, we are open to someone already in the Research Development sector or someone looking to make a career change.   

You may have experience supporting engagement opportunities, assisting in gathering information from internal and external stakeholders. You will have an interest in natural sciences and a desire to make a positive impact on environmental issues.  

Joining a growing team, you will work collaboratively within the team, being highly organised as you would be managing several projects at one time, delivering them to tight deadlines.   

Here are the main responsibilities of the role: 

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of activities required to support science area research development 
  • Support and provide relevant sector insights – raising awareness of current and future opportunities 
  • Use knowledge of and insights into key funders to ensure proposals are properly addressed and are compliant with requirements  
  • Identify the materials and engagements required to raise our profile in priority areas, including sector analysis and informing promotional activities   
  • Provide support to the research development team across all activities, working with members of the function as necessary  
  • Monitor funder policies and/or status to provide business insight   
  • Assist with the development of bids    

You will possess the following skills and attributes: 

  • A degree or equivalent experience, ideally in research/business development or environmental science  
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement or research/business development 
  • Knowledge of strategic assessment of funding landscape and opportunities, ideally in the Water sector
