Language Testing Academic Manager

Oxford International Digital Institute (OIDI)

Working hours: 40 hours per week with some weekend and evening work from time to time

Job purpose

Language Testing has become a cornerstone department for the Oxford International Digital Institute. The main purpose of this job is to manage the OIDI Language Testing (LT) products and staff, and assure they continue to grow and strive. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Academic Management & Quality Assurance

  • Overseeing the result and appeal processes
  • Overseeing and investigating cases of academic misconduct
  • Management and support of the LT academic team (ELLT academic coordinators)
  • Management and support of the LT examiners: examiner recruitment, inductions & training, standardisations, moderation; day-to-day support and queries
  • Liaising and communicating with partners, university admissions teams, agents, etc.
  • Supporting business development from an academic standpoint
  • Managing the examiner mentorship programme

Material Development

  • Updating and developing training materials for examiners
  • Updating and developing preparation courses for language testing products
  • Working closely with the LT Content Development manager to ensure all new content or products are adequately presented to examiners and other stakeholders

Other

  • Partaking in Oxford International inset and conference days.
  • Support other departments as needed e.g., deliver language sessions or workshops for other departments, cooperate with the sales team etc., represent and promote the department favourably at every opportunity as directed.
