We are seeking a motivated and efficient Research Assistant to join the group of Prof Louise Boyle (www.teamtapbpr.co.uk) at the Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge.
This position, funded by Wellcome, will help investigate the molecular mechanisms controlling peptide selection for immune recognition by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules.
Candidates should hold a BSc or MSc degree in biological sciences. Candidates should have experience with mammalian tissue culture and molecular biology techniques. Practical experience with flow cytometry and CRISPR/Cas9 is advantageous, but we will be delighted to consider highly motivated individuals who can demonstrate excellent relevant laboratory skills. A good working knowledge of the MHC class I antigen processing and presentation pathway is desirable.
Successful applicants will become an integral and valued member of an international and multidisciplinary group. The candidate will have the opportunity to work under their own initiative and present regularly at lab meetings. The candidate should have good interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability work well independently and as part of a team.
The position is available from 1 February 2023 for 18 months. The closing date for this position is 5 January 2023. Interviews are due to take place on 19/20 January 2023.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
