We are looking for a Lecturer to join the University of Leicester in Operating Department Practice Education. This post provides the opportunity for those wanting to develop academic excellence and to contribute to research led teaching.
You will work as part of a vibrant team delivering innovative teaching to students undertaking the BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice, including the apprenticeship route to Award. This includes delivering lectures, tutorials and seminars, designing and marking assessments, personal tutoring, responding to student queries and attending social events. You will support the enhancement of teaching and learning in our school by contributing proactively to the administration of modules and continually improving your own understanding and application of learning and teaching.
As a teaching focused lecturer, you will also engage in scholarship and publication that enhances teaching and learning within the School and further establishes its external reputation.
We will support you in developing your teaching career and, in turn, you will play a key role in ensuring our continued success and fulfilling our future ambitions.
With experience of teaching ODP students, you will have the ability to facilitate student learning using a comprehensive range of delivery methods including lectures, seminars and tutoring. You will be confident in reviewing, evaluating and developing the key skills of students, being able to develop resource materials to enhance teaching quality.
You will have exhaustive experience employed in an Operating Department as a registered practitioner, with a professional qualification for ODP work in all aspects of the practitioner role and hold professional registration as a Registered Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC.
