Job Summary
The Section of Structural and Synthetic Biology undertakes world-leading innovative research with a focus on bridging the gap between fundamental biophysics and medical research into the mechanisms underlying human diseases. The role of Section Administrator is central to the functioning of the Section and will primarily support the Head of Section Professor Paul Freemont.

Duties and responsibilities
As Section Administrator you will provide professional, confidential and efficient administration support to the Head of Section of Structural and Synthetic Biology and to the rest of the section on a job-share basis (0.4 FTE). The role also provides administrative support to the SynBioVen project led by Co-Directors Professor Freemont within Faculty of Medicine and Professor Kitney within Faculty of Engineering (0.6 FTE).
Essential requirements
To be successful, you will have previous administrative and secretarial experience gained in an academic or clinical environment. Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff are essential. You will be able to prioritise your own workload to meet a variety of dynamic deadlines and the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy is vital, alongside utilising a problem-solving approach.

This is a full-time and fixed term post for 3 years. You will be based at the South Kensington campus (with travel as required to other Imperial campuses).

The College is currently trialling a Work Location Framework until early 2023. Hybrid working may be considered for this role and the role holder may be expected to work 60% or more of their time onsite, with 40% the minimum time spent onsite.
