We are looking for a postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) to conduct research in efficient algorithms for Bayesian inverse problems, under the mentorship of Dr Aretha Teckentrup.
The Opportunity:
This 3-year postdoc position is funded by Dr Teckentrup’s EPSRC New Investigator Award, which aims to develop efficient algorithms based on Gaussian process regression for solving high-dimensional Bayesian inverse problems in partial differential equations. The start date is April 1st 2023, or a mutually agreeable date between then and October 1st 2023. If the position is taken up before July 1st 2023, there is an opportunity for funded participation in the INI programme on Data-driven engineering.
The postdoc’s primary responsibility will be to conduct research, both independently and in collaboration with other members of the Edinburgh research community.
The position comes with a travel budget of over £5000 per annum to attend conferences and workshops, as well as an allowance for technology expenses.
