Do you have experience, knowledge and an understanding of marketing and recruitment, with a track record of leading a team of marketing communications professionals? Are you creative and highly motivated to deliver exceptional marketing and recruitment activities?
We are looking to recruit a marketing specialist who will develop and lead on collaborations with a wide range of stakeholders to reinforce our reputation as one of the best faculties of Science in the UK and to attract students to study science subjects at our world leading university. The Marketing and Communications Manager will lead a team to develop and implement marketing and communications strategies, designed to expand the reach of educational stories, research and impact through marketing and recruitment, international relations, alumni relations and external engagement (in particular our relationships with industry and policy makers locally, nationally and internationally).
You will identify and implement activities to enhance the Faculty’s capacity to generate and successfully release engaging stories and case studies to internal and external audiences, with a particular focus on student recruitment communications. You will lead a team to deliver (and/or source support from specialists in professional services departments for) a range of activities, including producing news stories, writing and distributing press releases and case studies, organising events, and leading on content across our internal and external website and social media channels.
You will join the Faculty Team and work with colleagues in marketing and communications, student recruitment, schools’ outreach and widening participation. The post reports jointly to both the Faculty Deputy Director of Operations (Academic Services) and the Head of Student Recruitment Marketing in the University’s Student Recruitment, Marketing and Admissions (SRMA) Team. This matrix management arrangement offers a unique opportunity to both shape Faculty marketing activity and collaborate seamlessly with the wider central student recruitment marketing team.
You must have a good honours degree (or equivalent experience) along with experience of developing, implementing and measuring digitally-led marketing plans.
This is an exciting time to join the University as we are currently working on changes to ensure that our student recruitment and marketing activities continue to meet the needs of our customers. The recruitment and selection process will be based on the current job description, but future changes may be made as we implement improvements in this area. Any changes would be communicated to employees at the earliest opportunity.
We are one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
