The Health Wellbeing and Care Hubs will provide an exciting state of the art research facility in a clinical setting, which will help transform health, wellbeing and care in the region and strengthen our connection with the community and our sector partners, in Essex, across our region and nationally. It will be closely aligned to the Institute of Public Health and Wellbeing with the role holder reporting to the Director of the Institute of Public Health and Wellbeing.
Students, staff, health sector provider-partners and our wider communities will come together in the Health, Wellbeing and Care Hubs to address the public health and wellbeing needs of our region and support the work of our Integrated Care Systems.
Duties of the Role
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to deliver a range of services and facilities that will align with the University’s values and strategic plan. They will also be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Health, Wellbeing and Care Hubs, including all administration, operational clinical services and ongoing clinic maintenance and upkeep in line with legal and national care minimum standards in the legislation for independent care. This includes but is not limited to providing line management to all staff connected to the Health Wellbeing and Care Hubs, including clinical, administrative, management and technical staff. They will also provide a substantial contribution, which will generate significant impact to the community, by providing evidence-based clinics which provide novel treatments. They will have proven experience working as a clinical director or other management position.
Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will have a sustained record of strategic leadership. Their professional reputation and evidence of strong and impactful interactions with local, regional, national and international organisations and partners will mean they can influence, lead and shape the Health, Wellbeing and Care Hub. They will have excellent presentation skills and be able to succinctly articulate the impact of the Hub to various audiences to promote the interests of the Health, Wellbeing and Care Hubs as required.
The Health Wellbeing and Care Hubs has a high profile within the University and a strong blend of personal and professional qualities will be essential, particularly the ability to work constructively with a wide range of professional and academic colleagues in pursuit of the University’s complex objectives and fulfilment of its plans. The role-holder will need to demonstrate high levels of leadership and strategic vision, alongside competence and integrity. In addition, it will be essential for them to be able to communicate effectively with a very wide range of external individuals and organisations, including potential funders of research, senior policymakers in government, private sector and partner organisations.
