Leading our Research Project Modules
BPP Law School is seeking to appoint a Module Leader with responsibility for its research projects.
The Law School has a large portfolio of research modules which are delivered as part of our BTC, LFC, LPC and SQE programmes. The successful candidate will have overarching responsibility for our research projects across the Law School’s professional programmes.
What you’ll be doing
As a Module Leader you will be an academic leader who will play a vital role in upholding educational standards and maintaining the quality of modules and assessments in your subject area of research projects.
The role will involve working collaboratively with other members of the Curriculum team. The team’s goal is to develop and maintain a curriculum that is accessible and inclusive, that builds a motivation and appetite to learn, whilst making a significant and positive contribution to a student’s overall experience.
The Module Leader’s role is to maintain and develop learning, teaching and assessment content for research projects across the Law School’s programme portfolio. This includes maintenance and day to day management as well as review, enhancement and quality assurance. The role may include design of new materials, review of existing material and either production of new material or oversight of production by a Subject Matter Expert.
This role will also provide you with the ability to guide and develop the Law School’s research agenda as the leading provider of professional legal education.
Choose a better work-life balance
With hybrid working available, you’ll be able to split your time between one of our centres and wherever you choose to call home. Either way, you’ll benefit from a vibrant workplace and a culture that believes in looking after others, while being part of a diverse workforce where difference is celebrated.
On top of a competitive salary, we provide a generous annual leave entitlement of 30 days, and there’s a rewards package that includes retail discounts, Group Personal Pension Plan, dedicated healthcare and dental plans that offer additional assurance to look after you and your family. Brilliantly, you can also study any of BPP’s courses for free – be it a professional qualification or full degree.
What we’re looking for
You will have a passion for teaching and learning, be able to uphold and champion curriculum and teaching excellence, whilst role modelling the values and traits of a highly capable and effective leader.
You will have a Master’s level qualification and preferably a PhD. Ideally, you will have or be seeking to develop a research interest in the legal profession or legal education. You will provide leadership to a wide team of Law School tutors who act as our student’s supervisors. You will have strong organisational ability which will enable you to organise and deliver our wide portfolio of research modules which are delivered across multiple start dates and multiple programmes. You will be able to work well as part of a team liaising with other departments to resource and schedule your modules, work across programme with individual Award Leaders, design new research projects to meet market demand and contribute to the Law School’s ability to achieve its scholarship ambitions.
