The department of Tissue Dynamics and Regeneration (Dr. Jochen Rink) invites applications for a position as
Bioinformatician (F/M/D)We are a young, international department; our working language is English. We study the fascinating ability of planarians to regenerate complete animals from tissue pieces and conduct worldwide expeditions to study the evolution of regenerative abilities. Our interdisciplinary approach encompasses next-generation sequencing techniques (RNA-Seq, scSEQ, ATAC-seq, ChIP-Seq, Hi-C and long-read sequencing). We assemble, annotate, and mine genomes for regenerative mechanisms, scaling phenomena and other intriguing quirks of planarian biology.
The position
You support department members in the analysis / mining of NGS data, maintain departmental analysis pipelines / databases, and develop / integrate new analysis tools. You interface with local computational service providers and closely collaborate with department members and external partners. The pursuit of personal research interests is possible and encouraged, including the mentoring of Masters / PhD students.
