We are Study Group, a pathway provider college that offers international students the chance to study programmes that are specially designed, university-recognized courses. As the largest pathway college within the UK & Europe, with over 1,500 students enrolled annually, you’ll be joining a large collaborative team that is passionate about teaching and learning. JOB OVERVIEW

You will be responsible for leading and supporting the subject area within the pathway. Reporting to the Head of Subject, you will work closely with senior colleagues within and outside of the College and be accountable for the delivery of contractually required progression rates to the University. In addition to the effective line management of teaching staff you will also have accountability for student outcomes across defined groups of modules. 

The successful candidate will have recent successful line academic team leading experience in a relevant subject discipline and have proven ability to engage with a HEI in collaborative developments.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • A Bachelor’s degree and preferably, a teaching qualification or a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant subject
  • Experience of delivering ‘good or better’ teaching within Social Sciences or Humanities
  • A good understanding of the UK pathway education context both from a business and academic perspective.
  • Experience, and a positive track record, of academic management and quality assurance in UK further and/or higher education.
  • Experience of providing feedback to another person about their performance, which achieved a positive improvement.
  • Experience of HR duties, such as delivering training and taking part in the recruitment process.
  • Experience of leading, advising or supporting others to develop curricula.
  • Experience of working within a Virtual Learning Environment.
