Are you looking for a new challenge?
Are you keen to expand and develop your nursing skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment?
If yes, then we want to hear from you!
We have an exciting opportunity to join our theatre nursing team at the Queens Veterinary School Hospital.
You will provide nursing to an excellent standard in the Small Animal Theatres, consisting of five surgery suites, endoscopy suite and dental room, alongside anaesthesia induction bays and an x-ray room. The environment requires you to be adaptable, stay calm under pressure and have excellent communication and team working skills.
The tasks in the Theatre suites will provide pre, intraoperative and post-operative care of surgical patients, medical diagnostics and administration duties linked to each case, various cleaning and hygiene duties. Additionally, on rotation the nurses spend a week with the anaesthesia department - under supervision they are assigned cases to work up and then deliver the anaesthetic from induction to recovery - a great opportunity for anyone wanting to develop their anaesthesia skills.
Participation in weekday and weekend out of hour's rota will be expected, however, the current rota is one in seven.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same, so we are seeking individuals with a passion for nursing, with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, students and clients. The ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision is essential.
In return, we offer an encouraging and nurturing environment and have a dedicated team of clinicians and nurses who are committed to providing the best care for our patients.
