Wellcome’s Infectious Disease team has a long-term remit to fund a portfolio of activities to ensure the world is protected against different types of infectious disease, and the threat of disease-escalation now and in the future. We bring together our diverse expertise across science, innovation and society to build a world that is better prepared to prevent and eliminate infectious diseases. We are looking to recruit a Research Manager to sit within the Modelling section of the Health Systems & Environment team. We are currently building a portfolio of modelling activities that focuses on:
For this role, we are looking for an individual with an understanding of how modelling can be used in the areas outlined above and how it can be used to support science to tackle health challenges particularly those in low resource settings. Experience of funding/working in a low-and-middle income country is an asset.
The Research Manager will work with the wider team to implement projects and activities in the specific areas of focus such as: implementing and assessing funding calls and commissions, convening groups, drafting reports and liaising with internal and external groups and individuals as required.
This role does not have line management responsibilities, but you will need experience in project management.
