We currently have an exciting opportunity for a CPRD Research Data Governance Officer to join our Clinical Practice Research Datalink team in the Safety and Surveillance group. This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. CPRD, jointly sponsored by the Agency and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), is the UK’s preeminent research service providing access to anonymised NHS data for research. In addition to supporting high quality observational research, CPRD has developed world leading services based on using real world data to support clinical trials and interventional studies.
The CPRD Research Data Governance Officer role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the UK Government’s premier data-driven research service and will be responsible for managing CPRD’s compliance with regulatory, ethics and policy requirements. Responsibilities include providing timely information governance (IG) support for the linking of primary care data with additional data sets, including risk and data protection impact assessments; monitoring ongoing compliance with IG and related information management policies; records management; providing advice, guidance and training for staff and customers.
In addition to working closely with other members of CPRD staff, the role will involve regular liaison with stakeholders like NHS Transformation Directorate, the Health Research Authority (HRA), Confidentiality Advisory Group (CAG), as well as CPRD clients and partners.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have a degree in life sciences, healthcare, law, ethics, information management, information governance or equivalent experience and experience of data or information governance, risk and compliance (GRC) in an NHS, health, health research or health research services organisation.
You will have a well-developed understanding of the benefits and sensitivities of using patient records in research and take a positive approach to tackling problems and find ways to identify suitable solutions. You will also facilitate constructive discussions and enjoy getting all parties to reach an agreement.
