About the role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Front-End Web Developer with proven HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills to join our Web Team within the External Affairs Unit. This new and exciting technical role will primarily work with the Web Manager to creatively develop the University’s external website www.bathspa.ac.uk to meet strategic objectives.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving the current design, functionality, and accessibility of the website within the framework of our Content Management System (Terminalfour). You’ll take ownership of the existing front-end code and make changes and improvements based on user needs and best practice.
Additionally, you’ll provide support to some of our other online channels such as the intranet and our externally hosted websites, troubleshooting problems and logging support tickets with our external partners.
You’ll also be involved in new web design project tasks from initial concepts to completion using your knowledge of UX design and front-end web technologies to produce high quality, accessible user-focused interfaces.
About you (requirements)
You must be a front-end developer with significant and proven experience designing and developing user-focused web interfaces within a content management system framework. With a strong knowledge of writing HTML, CSS and JavaScript code using current best practices, you must be able to show examples of user-focused, accessible websites or interfaces that you have created.
