Buildings & Facilities Manager (106995-0123)
£32,348 - £42,155 per annum
Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2024, FTE 1.0
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading Business School and to enhance your previous buildings and facilities management experience in a key role, on a fixed-term contract (March 2023 – March 2024).
You will be able to demonstrate strong and proactive interpersonal, project management, communication and administrative skills. You will be educated to at least degree standard or with demonstrable equivalent experience relevant to the role, with recent and relevant applied experience in facilities management, project management and administration, preferably but not necessarily gained in the higher education sector. You will have the ability to organise a busy and multi-faceted workload, meet deadlines and build strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
A key aspect of this role is the delivery of excellent customer service in a diplomatic, friendly and professional manner, and the promotion of that high quality customer service ethos through a dedicated Buildings & Facilities team.
You will be able to demonstrate sensitive and effective communications skills and a high level of competence in Microsoft Office software including MS Excel. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical, as is the ability to anticipate issues and problems and to propose and deliver strategically effective solutions.
The post-holder will play a key part in activities associated with the University’s Grand Challenges as we approach 2030, specifically around the distinct, but aligned, WBS and Faculty of Social Sciences Grand Challenges that will consider the strategic positioning of estate and infrastructure.
Working five days over seven, the usual working pattern will be Monday to Friday. The role will occasionally require evening and weekend working. The post may also require occasional visits to the WBS London base at The Shard, for which appropriate expenses will be paid.
Interview date: TBC
Closing Date: 19 February 2023.
