We are seeking a Research Fellow in the History of Political Thought, tenable from 1 October 2023 for a fixed term of three years. This post is offered by the Electors of the A.J. Carlyle Fund, together with the History Faculty and Oriel College. The Fellowship will be tenable at Oriel College.
The main duty of the successful candidate will be to engage in academic research in the field, but he or she will also be expected to undertake light teaching duties in the University and will be offered the opportunity to teach for Oriel and other colleges. Applications will be considered from postdoctoral candidates and from graduate students in their third or subsequent year of doctoral research. Those candidates who have not completed their doctorate should provide evidence that they are likely to be in a position to submit their thesis within the first year of the Fellowship. Applications are particularly welcome from women, black people and members of other minority ethnic groups that are underrepresented in academic posts in Oxford.
The Fellow will be paid on salary scale G 7.1, currently £34,308. There will also be a modest research allowance.
