About the Blavatnik School of Government
Our vision is of a world better led, a world better served and a world better governed. We are a global school committed to improving the quality of government and public policymaking worldwide, through three routes: teaching current and future leaders; generating research with impact; and engaging with governments and practitioners.
What we offer
The School is a collaborative, friendly, and dynamic department based in an award-winning building in Oxford. We host regular events and talks with well-known guest speakers – all of which are open to staff. On the social side, we have a regular events calendar that are designed to appeal to all, including our Christmas and summer parties.
As an employer, we genuinely care about our employees’ wellbeing and this is reflected in the range of benefits that we offer. More information about working at the School can be found on our jobs page.
About the Role
You will contribute to the Hub’s research on climate policy, regulation and governance, working collaboratively to develop innovative research across sectors and jurisdictions. You will design and adapt research methodologies, analyse qualitative and quantitative evidence, and explore how climate policies and regulations are designed, interact and spread across different contexts.
You will help shape new research projects and funding proposals, contribute to academic publications and book chapters, including comparative research using the Climate Policy Monitor, and present findings at conferences and other events. You may also contribute to developing new areas of the Hub’s research and Climate Policy Monitor.
About You
You will hold, or be close to completing, a relevant PhD/DPhil in public policy, political science, law, economics, international relations or a related discipline, alongside relevant research experience. You will have strong specialist knowledge of climate policy, regulation or governance in one or more sectors or jurisdictions, with the ability to contribute to comparative research across different contexts and develop innovative research ideas.
You will have effective organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage your own research and meet deadlines. You will bring experience of contributing to research publications or presentations, alongside the ability to develop new research ideas and contribute to funding proposals.
