This post is full time (35 hours per week) and offered on an open ended basis. Relocation expenses will be provided where appropriate.
In this role, the postholder will be responsible for developing and maintaining platforms, applications and tools in support of research, knowledge exchange and public engagement objectives of the Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC). Under the supervision of the Centre’s Senior Research Engineering Manager, the postholder will deliver software tools and services to support the administration of the Urban Big Data Centre, the use of its data infrastructure by a diverse group of researchers and stakeholders, and its knowledge exchange and public engagement activities.
In addition, the postholder will develop, maintain, and test systems for secure data access, data injection and integration, database management, web services and Application Programming Interfaces, data curation and cleaning.
Furthermore, the postholder will work closely with UBDC researchers and in partnership with a range of public and private organisations with whom UBDC is developing data-sharing relationships, including internal and external users of the Centre’s data products and services. Given the range and complexity of the data and stakeholders involved, the postholder will be required to be open to learning new methods and technologies, work in both large and small teams, and develop innovative solutions on an as-needed basis.
