A Postdoctoral Psychology Researcher is needed for a new industry-funded research project at the University of Sussex. The project aims to provide a new analysis of concert and festival goers’ experiences of safety and atmosphere at live music events. The work will involve interviews and questionnaire surveys to understand experiences and examine a predictive model.
The project is led by Professor John Drury (School of Psychology). The post will involve being the lead researcher on two empirical studies. First, an interview study with ~25 people who have recently attended live music events. Second, a questionnaire survey with up to 2000 attendees, administered online.
Specific duties will include: designing and carrying out interviews over Zoom; thematically analysing interviews: obtaining ethical clearance; designing and carrying out web-based questionnaire surveys (e.g., using Qualtrics), including via a QR code; analysing questionnaire survey data using advanced statistical methods (including factor analysis, structural equation modelling, mediation and moderation, in R and SPSS); literature review; writing up research studies for publication; communicating scientific findings to non-academic audiences.
The postholder will be supported by a clerical assistant and will work closely with a statistics consultant for the survey.
