Keele is the first UK University to offer a two-year pre-registration MSc Prosthetics & Orthotics programme. An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a part time (12 months) 0.4FTE position as a Prosthetics & Orthotics Lecturer within the growing School of Allied Health Professions. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who would like to gain experience in academia to broaden their career aspirations. The successful candidate will support the Programme Director and teach mainly within the P&O programme, with occasional contribution across the School’s educational portfolio. We are particularly keen to recruit a colleague with recent Orthotics experience and you would be joining our enthusiastic and experienced P&O academic team.
Offering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate provision, the School is part of a research and scholarship community via the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and wider University. Established at Keele since 1994, the School has offered pre-registration Prosthetics and Orthotics since January 2022, Physiotherapy, Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) and Rehabilitation and Exercise Science Programmes as well as eight postgraduate taught Masters programmes, CPD, and opportunities for doctoral study, including Professional Doctorate options.
You will play a part in the development of educational initiatives aligned with the school’s strategic direction and will pursue scholarly activities in line with the School focus. You will be an HCPC registered Prosthetist/ Orthotist, with an appreciation of the principles of teaching and learning in higher education. Depending upon the profile of the successful candidate it may be possible to explore career development opportunities that involve research.
