We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Are you a strategic thinker and excellent communicator? Can you plan and devise social media activity and campaigns to tell a consistent and compelling story? Can you proactively spot, and intervene in, projects where digital activity can add value?
The University of Leeds is one of the top 135 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.
The University has invested in its web presence in recent years and re-worked its approach to social media and other external digital channels to facilitate genuine two-way communications with key stakeholders in the UK and internationally, raise the profile of the University and its work and improve intelligence gathering. You will be essential to achieving, maintaining and further developing our digital communications.
As an experienced digital practitioner, you will be able to create, edit and publish social media content and assess its impact to inform future developments. You will need the interpersonal skills to build strong networks across and outside the University, including with senior staff, academics and external online influencers.
You will manage the University's image on social media, and respond to sensitive and potentially damaging social media issues to help protect the reputation of University and manage a team supporting social media and evaluation.
You will contribute to the development of the digital communications team, providing direction and deputising for the Head of Digital Communications when appropriate.
