The School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Assistant within the Wellcome Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine.
The postholder will assist in the planning and delivery of research activity carried out within the research team of Dr Guilherme Costa (https://gcosta064.wixsite.com/costa-lab). We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will support projects related to RNA biology in the context of blood vessel formation. The successful candidate will be an integral pillar within the team, who will run experiments, support diverse projects, and help with lab organisation and procurement. Thus, the post is suited to applicants with a meticulous work ethic and a team-player approach to lab work. Applicants must demonstrate such skills within their CV and interview. The successful candidate will be offered support to access diverse training and career development opportunities. The post is initially available for two years, with the opportunity for renewal for two additional years.
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:
An Honours degree in a subject relevant to research activity (e.g., biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry).
One year’s recent hands-on experience in at least 2 of the following:
