This is a very rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with a range of stakeholders, including a major UK Charity to deliver quality communication and engagement, alongside a great team. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of engaging people in a variety of ways online and in person, experience of using social media platforms and of running marketing campaigns. 

The UK Multiple Sclerosis Register (UKMSR) is funded by the MS Society and is based in Population Data Science group, (Swansea University Medical School). The Population Data Science group is an internationally renowned centre focussing on the use of anonymised person-based data on the population of Wales for research. Their aim is to maximise the safe use of public service data to improve health, well-being and public services both within the UK and internationally.

This post will be part of the busy UK MS Register Team but also have close relationship with the Population Data Science marketing team.

The main purpose of the position in summary:

  • To be a point-of-contact for project, communicating courteously and professionally by videoconferencing, telephone, email, letter and face-to-face with project’s stakeholders, managing incoming and outgoing communications.
  • Steer and be in charge of social networking initiatives for the UKMSR
  • Be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of a marketing and communication plan
  • To manage and coordinate Patient and Public involvement groups ensuring recruitment, retention and productivity is maintained.
  • Organise and attend events, conferences, and meetings across the UK and abroad to represent the project. This requires some degree of budgetary and planning experience. These may occur outside of normal office hours.

The successful candidate will need

  • Experience of working on marketing and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • An ability to work accurately within tight deadlines, applying good organisation skills, planning and prioritising a number of tasks and working on your own initiative.
  • Demonstrable the drive to work to a high degree of accuracy.
