Short summary
The Crick Institute is seeking an ambitious and collaborative expert to design, develop, implement, and oversee training between the Crick’s Science Technology Platforms (STPs) and the wider scientific community. The Crick plans to develop a training model to establish the Crick as a centre for excellence in capability training both in the UK and internationally. As the Lead for this prestigious programme of work, you will take strategic decisions to direct training aimed at learners inside and outside of the Crick, liaising with domain experts within the Crick’s STPs to fulfil these aspirations. Training will be developed and delivered across a range of learning environments, both building on existing infrastructure within the Crick and utilising innovative approaches to produce a world-leading training and competency platform to drive science forward at the Crick and beyond.

The Francis Crick Institute is a biomedical discovery institute dedicated to understanding the fundamental biology underlying health and disease. Its work is helping to understand why disease develops and to translate discoveries into new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, infections, and neurodegenerative diseases.
An independent organisation, its founding partners are the Medical Research Council (MRC), Cancer Research UK, Wellcome, UCL (University College London), Imperial College London and King’s College London.
The Crick was formed in 2015, and in 2016 it moved into a new state-of-the-art building in central London which brings together 1500 scientists and support staff working collaboratively across disciplines, making it the biggest biomedical research facility under in one building in Europe.
