We have an exciting opportunity in the Department of Computer Science for someone with a passion for STEM education who is keen to develop and evaluate inclusive next-generation education tools. You will join a multidisciplinary consortium, led by the University of Sheffield, with partners including STEM learning, Leeds Libraries and two robot education companies. A key goal will be to evaluate the effectiveness of educational interventions involving robots with primary and/or secondary school pupils. The research intends to generate evidence that can be used to support follow-on large-scale studies and strategic reports that are intended to impact national education policies and curricula. Your role will be to recruit school partners and student volunteers, develop interventions and support their delivery in schools, develop measures of effectiveness, and analyse and write-up results. You will ideally have either teaching qualification with experience of delivering STEM teaching related to technology OR a higher degree in a relevant discipline with track record in studying human-robot interaction.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
